How To Use Running Drills

 

The Running Drills in your training plan are a great way to break down specific aspects of running stride.  Most of these drills emphasize quickness and a short ground contact time, meaning your foot spends very little time on the ground.  This helps you learn to use the elasticity or spring in your muscles when you run.  A little work goes a long way on these drills.  These are best done early in the workout after you have warmed up but before any hard intervals.
